SLA 2025 116th Annual Conference & Expo: "Creative Transformation"
πποΈ Shaping the Future of the Information Profession πΌπ₯π
The premiere networking event for librarians and other information professionals in business, legal, medical, military, government, academic and other specialized information environments! This yearβs theme is βCreative Transformation,β with programs and activities designed to foster innovative thinking and enhance your skills to meet the challenges, demands, and opportunities you face in the quickly changing information landscape. Sessions will focus on evolving tools and technologies, as well as shifting professional and institutional cultures and practices, domestically and abroad. Attendees will engage in discussions about both the shared and unique ramifications of these changes to their specialties, their abilities to impact them, and the myriad perspectives and responses available to them.
SLAβs annual conferences are designed as a space for learning and sharing. To that end, weβre bringing the experience for the second year in a row to a university campus. From June 7th-10th, 2025 weβre thrilled to bring it all together at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA!

Although this is part of the Pitt campus, it is about seven miles from the main campus. The tour will touch on the history and architecture of the building (dates to 1859). Several generations of telescopes are housed there and the improvements in technology will be explained. There is even a small onsite library! At the end of the tour, we will have the opportunity to look through the 13-inch telescope at the Moon and Mars. This should appeal to those of us with an interest in history, architecture, technology, and the natural world. Free. Open to anyone with a max of 50 people. The private tour has been booked from 7pm - 9pm. We would need to leave the area by 6:40 at the latest. Transportation will depend on the number of people signed up. No charge for this event.
